Lascia vagare la mente is an audio-visual installation that experiments with sound as the main narrative tool. Imagine the sound of the sea, of insects in the grass, birds singing and the sounds of footsteps. The footsteps are yours, following a path, you're on a journey...but to where? These were my initial thoughts when I came across the static image used in this piece.
The emergence of a narrative occurred, developed using a combination of representational and non-representational field recordings. The representational sounds are dominant and allow an initial interpretation to take place, offering the listener a starting point or beginning to a journey through the environment that many of us take for granted.
