On the 8th November Composition or Sound Design? was aired on Resonance FM’s Framework: afield show. I produced the program to investigate the blurring of the boundaries between experimental music composition and theatre sound design. As part of the programme I interviewed Sound Designer Steve Brown and Electroacoustic Composer Ewan Stefani to see whether their process of making and producing pieces had similarities to the work I produce.
I make use of field recordings in all my work, whether that be for an experimental composition or a theatrical sound design, and I was intrigued to see how others use this as a tool for their creations.
