Drummers Drums & Pipers Pipe – Buille Hill Park – 20 December 2009

I am currently designing an audio installation for the Christmas Festival which will be held at Buille Hill Park on 20th December between 6-8pm. The installation is based around dummers drumming and pipers piping, taken from the Christmas song – The 12 Days of Christmas. Come along and join in the fun. All the 12 days of Christmas will be represented in various creative ways!

Composition or Sound Design – Framework:afield on Resonance FM

I produced a program entitled Composition or Sound Design for Resonance FM Framework:afield. The program was aired on Sunday 8th Novemer 2009. The program investigates the use of field recordings for sound design and composition. Two of my recent composition projects, Cities of Sound and Memories Unearthed are also part of the program. You can listen to the show below and hear the thoughts of Sound Designer – Steve Brown and Composer – Ewan Stefani as they answered questions I had previously put to them about the construction of their work.

Sound @ The World Stage Design Exhibition

Well I am pleased to annouce that I am one of the winners of the Sound Design prize at the World Stage Design Exhibition which is part of OISTAT (International Organisation of Scenographers, Theatre Architects and Technicians) in Korea.  The Odyssey is part of the Digital Exhibition and can be found at:

Resonance Fm – Framework: afield

I have just finished a program I was asked to produce for Framework: afield on Resonance FM.  The program features interviews with Steve Brown, Head of Sound at the Royal Exchange in Manchester and Ewan Stefani, a lecturer at Leeds University and an electroacoutic and acousmatic composer.  The program investigates the use of field recordings for sound design and composition.  Cities of Sound and Memories Unearthed are also part of the program.
