I have just finished a program I was asked to produce for Framework: afield on Resonance FM. The program features interviews with Steve Brown, Head of Sound at the Royal Exchange in Manchester and Ewan Stefani, a lecturer at Leeds University and an electroacoutic and acousmatic composer. The program investigates the use of field recordings for sound design and composition. Cities of Sound and Memories Unearthed are also part of the program. Tune in to the Resonance FM Podcast on 8th November 2009.

Memories Unearthed...
Memories Unearthed is the official title for the Wet Earth Colliery project which will be featured at Clifton Country Park - Dirt and Dreams event on Sunday 27th September.
Only a few weeks to go and the piece is almost complete. I look forward to seeing as many people there as possible. A stereo sample of the sound will features in the portfolio of work section shortly.
Sonic Environments @ Clifton Country Park
Thanks to the families and children that came up to Clifton Country Park today to participate in the workshops and soundwalk. We all had a great time and managed to get some fantastic recordings and didn't get toooo wet in our efforts!
The recordings from today and from the workshops that will take place tomorrow - Sunday 16th August - will go towards the installation that will be featured as part of Dirt and Dreams 2 at the Wet Earth Colliery on Sunday 27th September. More news to follow on this one.
Clifton Country Park
I can now confirm that the new exciting project I am currently working on is an outdoor sound installation at Clifton Country Park. Of particular interest to me is the Wet Earth Colliery which is situated in the park. There is a vast amount of history that is associated with the colliery and I hope to explore some of this with the project. The installation will take place as part of a celebration of the Colliery on Sunday 27th September 2009. It is a free event and all are welcome!
